[초록]
최근 국내에 유학생들이 지속적으로 급증하면서 대학 내 외국인 학부생을 위한 교양한국어 과목이 개설되고 한국어 교육의 중요성이 더욱 강조되었다. 이에 유학생들의 한국어 능력을 향상시킬 수 있는 교과 과정개발에 대한 논의도 활발히 이뤄지고 있다. 그러나 교양한국어 교과목에서 활용될 수 있는 특히, 지방 소재 대학기관에서의 교양한국어 교재 개발은 아직 본격화되지 못하고 있다.
외국인 유학생들이 대학 부설 언어 교육기관에서 소정의 한국어 교육과정을 이수하였음에도 불구하고 학부로 진학한 유학생들의 한국어 능력부족으로 인하여 전공 수업을 수강하는데 어려움을 호소하고 있다. 이는대학 생활에 적응하지 못해 학업을 포기하는 이유가 되기도 한다.
따라서 이들의 한국어 능력 향상 및 학업 증진을 위한 한국어 교양과목의 필요성이 대두되고 있다.
Recently, as the number of international students in Korea continued to surge, liberal arts Korean subjects were opened for foreign undergraduates in universities and the importance of Korean language education was further emphasized. Accordingly, discussions on the development of a curriculum that can improve international students' Korean language skills are also being actively conducted. However, the development of liberal arts Korean textbooks, especially at local university institutions, which can be used in liberal arts Korean subjects, has not yet begun in earnest. Although foreign students have completed a predetermined Korean language curriculum at a university-affiliated language education institution, they are complaining of difficulties in taking major classes due to the lack of Korean language skills of international students who have entered the undergraduate department. This can also be a reason for giving up studying because they cannot adapt to college life. Therefore, the need for Korean liberal arts courses to improve their Korean language skills and improve their studies is emerging.
