[논문 초록]
본 연구는 주제중심 언어교육을 통해 ‘대학 교양 한국어’수업의 교수요목을 설계하고 외국인 유학생을 위한 대학 교양 수업 교재의 구성 방안을 제시하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 학습자들의 요구조사를 실시하였고 이를 분석하여 ‘대학교양 한국어’교재 개발의 기초 자료로 이용하였다. 현재 국내 대학의 많은 외국인 유학생들이 한국의 대학 생활에 제대로 적응하지 못하고 졸업을 포기하고 있는 실정이다. 이것은 외국인 학생들이 대학 부설 언어 교육기관에서 소정의 언어교육 과정을 이수하였음에도 불구하고 대학에 진학해서 한국어로 수업을 들을 정도의 실력을 제대로 갖추지 못했다는 것을 의미한다. 일반 목적의 한국어 과정을 거쳤다고 하더라도 외국인 학습자들이 대학에서 수업을 듣기 위해서는 학문 목적의 한국어 학습이 필요하다. 이 때문에 외국인 학습자가 있는 대학들은 교양 한국어 수업 과정을 개설하고 있다. 대학 내 외국인 유학생들이 증가하면서 유학생을 위한 대학 교양 수업에 대한 교육 과정, 교수법, 교재 등이 필요하게 된 것이다. 현재 한국의 학생들에게 이루어지는 대학 교양 외국어 수업들은 잘 구성된 교수요목과 교재들이 개발되어 수업이 이루어지고 있다. 그러나 외국인 유학생들에 대한 ‘대학 교양 한국어’수업은 그 목적이 불분명한 경우도 많고, 교재 또한 개발되어 있지 않은 경우도 많다. 이러한 이유로 본고에서는 대학에 개설되어 있는 ‘대학 교양 한국어’수업의 교수요목을 개발하고 이에 따른 교재 개발의 필요성에 대해 논의하였다.
This study is to plan syllabus of‘College Korean’ class by theme-oriented language education and to suggest the class organizing plan of college teaching material for foreign students. To this, survey on lerner’s need has been performed to analysis and to be applied for basic data for ‘College Korean’materials.
Currently, many foreign students in domestic college failed to adapt to Korean college life and gave up graduation.
That means even though the foreign students has completed the fixed language education process, most of them are incapable to go to college and take classes in Korean, Despite finishing Koran class of general objective, foreign learners need to take college-aimed Korean classes to study in college Because of this, colleges are opening Korean classes for their foreign learners.
As the number of foreign students in domestic college is growing, it becomes necessary for them to offer education on college liberal arts, teaching method and materials.
All college ‘foreign language’ classes for Korean students are consist of well organized syllabus and materials. However, “Korean class’ for foreigners, the objective of class is uncertain mostly and no material has developed in many cases. For this reason, this manuscript is developing syllabus for ‘college Korean class’offered in college and mentioning the necessary of material development upon this and trying to discuss the organizing plan on this.
