이번 연구는 중국과 베트남 유학생의 우울 수준과 영향요인을 살펴보았다. 이를 위해, 전국의 고등교육기관에 수학하고 있는 유학생을 대상으로 설문을 실시하였고, 총514명이 응답하였다. 분석 결과, 중국과 베트남 유학생 모두 유력 우울증을 겪고 있는것으로 나타났다. 또한, 차별 경험, 주관적 건강상태가 중국과 베트남 유학생 모두 우울에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 공통 요인으로 확인되었다. 사회적 지지와 유학 생활 만족도는 중국인 유학생에게서만 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 논의 및 결론을 제시하였다.
This study aims to investigate the condition of depression and associated factors affecting depression among international students in South Korea. To do so, this study carried out a survey on individuals who were enrolled as full-time students in higher education. The results suggest that both Chinese and Vietnamese students were identified as having probable depression. It also indicates that subjective health status and international students’ experiences of discrimination are the significant variables of depression, despite differences in the presence and effect of certain factors on nationality.
Only for Chinese students, social support and students’ satisfaction are identified the factors that affect the depression. Finally, implications are drawn from the findings.
