[논문 초록]

본 연구는 한국에 유학 온 중국과 일본 유학생의 대학생활 적응을 돕기 위해 그들의 요구를 분석하고, 국가 간의 요구 차이 여부를 밝히고자 하였다. 이를 위해 서울 소재한 00대학에 재학 중인 중국과 일본 출신의 1학년 유학생 각각 6명씩 총 12명을 대상으로 심층면담을 통한 질적 연구를 진행하였다. 자료 분석은 내러티브 분석으로 진행되었으며, 분석 결과 7개 범주, 14 하위영역, 29개념이 도출되었다. 각 범주는 언어장벽 해결의 요구, 친구사귀기의 요구, 적극적 학습 활동에 대한 요구, 맞춤식 학사지도에 대한 요구, 경제적 요구, 문화이해의 요구, 대처능력에 대한 요구 등이다. 대학생활 적응에 있어서 중국과 일본 유학생의 요구는 유사하였으나 외국인에 대한 한국인의 차별 반응으로 인한 차이를 보였다. 본 연구 결과를 중심으로 논의 후, 연구 의의와 추후 연구를 제안하였다.

In this paper, needs analysis for Chinese and Japanese international students' adaptation to Korean university life is studied. Based on qualitative research, the main method of research is the in-depth interview. The subjects of the interview are 12 freshmen who are from China and Japan. For data analysis, narrative analysis, which is proposed by Lieblich, Tuval-Mashiach, & Zilber, has been used. There were 29 concepts, 14 subcategories and 7 categories extracted from the results of the analysis. Those 7 categories are as follows: overcoming the Korean langage barrier, making friends, positive motivation for learning, academic advising for international students, acquiring financial support, understanding Korean culture, and overcoming difficulties. Based on the findings of this study, the needs of Chinese and Japanese international students in order to adapt to Korean university life are discussed in relation to previous research.
