[논문 초록]


본 연구는 최근 국내 대학으로 급격히 유입되고 있는 유학생 대상의 한국어 교육, 그 중에서도 학문목적한국어 교육의 중요성을 전제로 전개되었다. 특히 지속적 증가가 예견되는 유학생 대상의 학문목적한국어 교육에 대한 질적 제고를 위해서, 그리고 전공 과정으로 이행하는 과정에서 필수적인 한국어 교육에 대한 학습자의 만족도를 향상하기 위해 한국어 교재가 지닌 문제점에 대한 연구가 필요하다는 인식에서 논의를 출발하였다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 S대에 유학 온 2017학년도 신입생을 대상으로 설문을 진행하였다. 외국인 유학생 중, 특히 대학의 교양한국어 교과목을 수강하는 학문목적한국어 학습자에게 적합한 교재를 편성하기 위해 학문목적한국어 학습대상자인 유학생이 실제로 필요로 하는 학습 내용을 파악할 수 있는 문항을 설계하여 설문조사를 실시하였다. 그 결과 S대가 유학생을 대상으로 집필한 교재 구성이 학습자의 요구와 괴리를 보이고 있음을 확인할 수있었고, 이를 토대로 향후 교재 개선 시 유의할 사항을 파악 할 수 있었다. 이는향후 해당 대학에 입학한 유학생 대상 한국어 교육 교재를 개발하고자 하는 타대학들에도 교재 집필에 따른 시행착오를 줄이는 측면에서 나름의 의미를 갖게될 것이다.


This study is basically initiated on the agreement of the importance of Korean for academic purposes(KPA) in Korean language program for international students, who is consistently visiting Korean university from all around world. In order to guarantee the quality of KPA for international students, and to improve the satisfaction of the learners for Korean language program which is needed for their major, it emerges that Korean language textbooks might have the critical limits and we need to resolve it. The survey was designed for learners’ real need for their academic language abilities to make proper textbook in the light of Korean liberal arts classes in the S-University 2017. Through survey for international students in S-University, it reveals that the existing textbook was little matched to international students’ need, and requires that the textbook should be revised. This study may contribute to the development of textbooks to decrease the trial-and-errors on them in other Korean universities for international students.
