Additionally, the current status of writing classes in liberal arts education and extra-curricular writing programs for international students were analyzed. Then, a case study of the extra-curricular writing program with specific teaching methods and contents for international students that can develop their writing ability and liberal arts knowledge was presented. Further, the student’s class satisfaction survey verified the program's efficiency, and implications and subsequent tasks were identified. As a result of a survey of students who participated in the extra-curricular writing, the program helped to acquire the sociocultural background knowledge that international students lacked and showed the necessity of the extra-curricular writing program for undergraduate international students.
