[국내자료/학술지] 오현성 외. 2021. 외국인 유학생 학습동기 잠재프로파일 유형 탐색 및 전공만족도와 편입의도의 차이분석

본 연구는 자기결정성이론을 기반으로 국내 사립대학 외국인 유학생(N=6 29)의 학습동기부여 프로파일 유형을 탐색하였다 본 연구에서는 다차원 요 . 인으로 구성된 자기결정성 동기요인들이 다수준으로 공존 내지는 경험되어 질 수 있다는 전제하에 최근 인문사회과학 분야에서 널리 활용되고 있는 잠 재프로파일분석(Latent Profile Analysis: LPA)을 실행하여 외국인 유학생 학습동기 프로파일 유형을 탐색하였다 잠재프로파일분석을 활용하여 5개(무동기화 중간수준 무동기화 저 동기화 높은 무동기화 높은 동기화)의 외국인 유학생 학습동기 프로파일이 도출되었다 도출된 개의 학습동기 프로파일 유형별 외국인 유학생들의 전공만족도 및 편입의도 간의 통계적 관 계를 검증하였다 분석 결과 높은 동기화 프로파일 유형에 속한 외국인 대학생들의 전공만족도 수준이 높고 낮은 편입의도 성향을 보이는 것으로 조사되었다 그럼에도 불구하고 외국인 유학생들의 학습동기 프로파일 유형 및 특징과는 상관없이 전공만족도 및 편입의도의 통계적 유의미성이 없는 것으로 조사되었다 이는 기존 프로파일 선행연구와 비교하여 프로파일 유형에 따른 맥락효과(context effects)가 발생하지 않는 것으로 조사되었다. 이러한 분석 결과를 기반으로 연구결과에 대한 논의 및 향후 외국인 유학생 관련 후속연구의 방향을 제시하였다.

On the basis of Self-determination theory, it is proposed that various types of motivation can be concurrently experienced. With respect to a person-centered approach, this study used a latent profile analysis to explore foreign university students’(N=629) study motivational profiles. As a result, this study classified five distinct types of foreign students’ study motivational profiles. In addition, this study contrasted these five foreign student’s study motivational profiles with major satisfaction and turnover intentions. Results showed that regardless of the patterns of motivational profiles, foreign university students’ major satisfaction and turnover intentions were not statistically different. this results means that there is on context effects within foreign students’ motivational profiles. On the basis of the results, this study discussed some implication for motivation study, practices and future research on foreign students’ motivational profile.
