[국내자료/학술지] 윤지원. 2022. 내외국인 교류를 위한 대학 비교과 프로그램의 참여자 인식 연구

[초록]

 외국인 유학생 대상의 비교과는 한국생활 적응을 위한 프로그램이 주를 이룬다. 그 중 내외국인 교류를 목적으로 개설된 프로그램은 내국인과 외국인 학생 간의 교류를 통해 외국인 유학생의 대학생활 적응 및 학업 역량 강화를 돕는 역할을 한다. 그 동안 내외국인의 교류를 위한 대학 비교과 프로그램 관련 연구는 그 사례를 중심으로 진행되어 왔으며 실제 참여자들의 인식에 대한 연구는 이루어지지 않았다. 이에 본 연구는 국내 대학의 내외국인 교류를 위한 비교과 프로그램에 참여한 학생들의 인식을 외국인과 내국인으로 나누어 비교 분석해 봄으로써 해당 프로그램의 개선사항을 도출하고 발전 방안을 제안하는 데에 그 목적을 두고 있다. 이를 위해 경남 소재의 C대학교 재학생 중 내외국인 교류를 위한 비교과 프로그램에 참여한 학생들을 대상으로 2021년 7월 19일부터 25일까지 온라인 방식의 설문조사를 진행하였다. 그 결과, 프로그램 참여 이유, 프로그램의 좋은 점과 어려운 점, 도움 내용, 도움 정도의 비율 등에서 차이가 있음을 확인하였다. 본 연구 결과는 일개 대학의 일부 학생들을 대상으로 진행되었기에 그 결과를 해석하고 일반화하는 데에는 제한이 있겠으나 내외국인의 교류를 위한 대학 비교과 프로그램 운영 개선안 마련의 기초자료 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

 The extracurricular programs for foreign students are mainly about adjustment of life in Korea. The programs aiming to enhance social exchanges between Koreans and foreigners are designed to play a role that helps to adapt to university life and promote their academic competency. A majority of the study related to university extracurricular programs have been under way based on the cases, the study about participants’awareness, however, has not been done yet. Therefore, this study aims to draw improvement points and propose development plans for relevant programs through the comparison and analysis of students’ awareness by dividing into Koreans and foreign students who participated in the extracurricular programs for exchanges between Koreans and foreign students of domestic university. We conducted the online survey from 19 to 25 July 2021 targeting the students who have participated in extracurricular program for exchanges between Koreans and foreign students out of registered students of C-university in Kyeongnam province. We identified some differences in terms of the reasons of participation, strong points and difficulties of the program, what they got from the programs. We hope that the content of this study will serve as the basic reference to establish a foothold for exchanges between Koreans and foreign students, even though there is a limit to interpret and generalize its conclusion because of the narrow range of participants.
