[논문 초록]

The aging in Korea has been already a serious issue at all. Recently, among OECD nations, Korea was reported as suffering from most fastest aging issue and ranked No. 1. Besides, in fact, he is only country that has ranked less than 1.3 of birth rate for thirteen years. This is a outstanding phenomenon, which could never have been found in any other societal groups in human history at all. Indeed, Korea is country in which aging has been happening at rapid rate than any other countries and its birth rate has been decreasing steeply, too.
The aging index is a rate of more than populations at age of 65 compared to populations at less than age of 15, in one society. Indeed, it is a index, which is to show the degree to which society ages. If we compare aging index in 2003, which was merely ten years ago; 41.3%, and in 2013; 80%, we can definitely find that it has jumped more than two times.
Moreover, it is expected to record 12.2% of oldest populations at more than age of 65 among overall population this year. Of course, such issue has not been only limited to Korea. However, it is desperate issue that we must suggest many other alternatives whereby we can work on such rapidly growing speed of aging.
Among various alternatives that have been suggested up until now, there was a suggestion, which says that we can try to host the excellent foreigners. In other word, if young exchange students from somewhere else, who better understand Korea culture, live in Korea or are naturalized, it could be fairly good solution for solving most of aging issues in Korea.
The Korean society has been in transition from one certain ethnic group, to the society of multi-cultural family. According to census of Education Ministry in 2013, among overall students(56,715) who has been going to Korean universities, 64.67%(36,683) were Chinese(including Chinese residents).
Accordingly, this study is to analyze which kinds of factor affect long-term sojourn of Chinese exchange students by keeping focus on this point and to affirm it with empirical study. At first, it classified a whole point of consideration for long-term sojourn with pilot study, into linguistic capability, cultural adaptation, social distance, economic environment, career development and school adaptation, and we conducted survey with Chinese exchange students in Korea. The questionnaire used 5 point Likert scale that has been mostly utilized in area of psychology.
According to outcome from survey, we could confirm that those all the fore-going factors affect long-term sojourn. Next, school adaptation and economic environment affects long-term sojourn in order. On top of that, linguistic capability, cultural adaptation social distance were found as most superior factors that affect it. However, unlike what we expected before we had conducted survey, the cultural adaptation was most powerful factor that affects it and social distance was found as second factor.
According to theory of Hofstede, there is highest percentage that students, who have been doing well at school, can do much more better in society. Therefore, it would be more helpful to exchange students if we not only provide them with academic curriculum for learning Korean linguistically but also with help for narrowing social distance. What is more, is that if Chinese exchange students adopt into school in Korea nicely, more of them would intent to stay for a long time and it could be judged that lowest birth rate/aging issue would be worked out as well.
