[초록]
본 연구는 외국인 유학생 대상 교양 글쓰기 과정에서 PBL을 적용하는 방안을 모색하고, 한국어중급과 고급 학습자를 대상으로 한 교양 글쓰기 수업의 설계안을 제시하는 데에 목적이 있다. 먼저본고에서는 대학에서의 글쓰기 교육의 목표를 검토하고, 대상 학습자인 외국인 유학생의 특수성을논의하였으며, 대학 교양 글쓰기 교육에서 PBL 적용의 가능성을 살펴보았다. 또한 학습자들이 문제해결능력을 갖춰야 하는 학내 안팎의 상황을 제시하고, 외국인 학부생 151명을 대상으로 심화글쓰기에대한 교육 요구를 조사한 결과를 분석하였다.
위와 같은 논의와 분석을 바탕으로, 본 연구에서는 외국인 학부생을 위한 글쓰기 교육의 목표를문제해결능력, 비판적 사고력, 창의력, 의사소통능력, 협업능력 함양으로 삼았다. 그리고 글쓰기 과정에서 PBL을 활용한 모형을 제안하였으며, 이를 K대학에서 한국어 숙달도에 따라 다르게 적용하였다.
수업 설계안에서는 문제, 팀 구성, 학습 지원 도구, 요구되는 최종 산출물의 수준을 숙달도에 따라차별화하여 제시하였다.
This study aims to explore ways to apply PBL to the college general writing course for foreign undergraduates, and to suggest the instructional design plan for intermediate and advanced learners of the Korean language.
First of all, this paper reviewed the goals of general writing education at university, discussed the specificity of foreign undergraduates, and examined the possibility of applying PBL to college writing. In addition, this study analyzed the demands of problem-solving skills from the school, and from within society, along with the needs for writing education of 151 foreign undergraduates.
Based on the above discussion, this study proposed the goal of college general writing for foreign undergraduates in order to cultivate their problem-solving ability, their critical thinking ability, their creativity, and their communication and collaboration ability. In addition, it presented the instructional model applying PBL in the writing process. This model can be differentiated according to the Korean proficiency standards. Lastly, through the course plan of K university, the problem to solve, the team composition, the learning support tools, and the required final product for intermediate and advanced learners are presented.
