[국내자료/학술지] 이현진. 2022. 외국인 유학생의 상담 관련 연구 동향 분석 및 대학생활 적응 관련 변인 간의 상관관계 메타분석

[초록]

목적 본 연구의 목적은 외국인 유학생의 상담 관련 연구 동향을 분석하고 대학생활 적응과 관련 변인 간의 상관관계 메타분석을 실시하여 효과크기를 탐색하는 것이다. 방법 한국연구재단 등재지 및 등재후보지에 게재된 외국인 유학생의 상담 관련 연구를 2021년 11월에 검색하여 총 53편을 선정하였고 선행연구를 바탕으로 분석 준거를 설정하여 연도, 국적, 연구방법, 연구주제 등에 대해 분석했으며, 그 중 유학생 대학생활 적응관련 연구 10편을 대상으로 인지, 정서, 관계관련 변인 군에 대한 메타분석을 실시하였다. 결과 첫째, 외국인 유학생 상담 관련 연구는 2008년부터 시작되었으며, 중국인 유학생 관련 연구가 35편(66.0%)으로 가장 많은것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 연구방법은 양적연구가 36편(67.9%)으로 가장 많은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 연구주제는 성격 및 적응이31편(58.4%)으로 가장 많은 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 메타분석 결과 정서, 관계 변인 군에서 작은 효과 크기가 나타났으며, 인지 변인군에서는 효과크기가 나타나지 않았다. 결론 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 외국인 유학생 상담 관련 연구에 대한 방향과 외국인 유학생 상담 장면에서의 개입방안 및 후속연구에대한 시사점을 제시하였다.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to analyze the research trends related to counseling for foreign students and to explore the effect size by performing a meta-analysis of correlations between college life adaptation and related variables. Methods In November 2021, a total of 53 studies were selected for counseling-related research on foreign students published in the registered journals and candidate journals of the National Research Foundation of Korea. Based on previous research, analysis criteria were established and analysis was conducted on year, nationality, research method, research topic, etc. Among them, meta analysis of cognition cognition, emotion, and relationship-related variables for 10 studies on college life adaptation of foreign students was conducted. Results First, the research on counseling for foreign students started in 2008, and the research on Chinese students was the most frequent with 35 (66.0%). Second, as for the research method, quantitative research was the largest with 36 (67.9%). Third, the most research topics were personality and adaptation with 31 (58.4%). Fourth, as a result of meta-analysis, a small effect size appeared in the emotional and relational variable group, but no effect size was found in the cognitive variable group. Conclusions Based on these results, directions for research related to counseling for international students, intervention methods in the counseling scene for international students, and implications for follow-up studies were presented.
