본 연구는 중국인 유학생들의 국내 대학원의 한국어번역 전공(KFLT) 진학 수요를 조사하고 그에 영향을 미치는 변인을 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 서울 소재 S대의 79명과 대전 소재 P대의 96명, 총 중국인 유학생 총 169명을 대상으로 개인 인적 사항, 취업 선호 및 요인 인식, 자가 이중언어 능력 인식을 중심으로 설문 조사를 실시하여 대학원 진학 선호에 영향을 미치는 변인이 무엇인지를 분석하였다. 결론적으로, 중국인 유학생의 53.8%가 대학원 진학을 원하며, 이 중의 반 이상은 KFLT에 진학하기를 원하는 것으로 조사되었다. 유의한 영향 변인에 대한 회귀분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 우선, 개인 인적 사항에서는 재학 중 대학교, 전공 계열, 학년, TOPIK 등급 등이 유의한 영향 변인으로 관찰되었다. 다음으로, 자가 이중언어 능력과 관련 업무(번역) 경험 유무는 유의하지 않았으나, 한국어 능력 향상에 대한 의지는 유의한 영향 변인으로 분석되었다. 끝으로, 응답자가 한국어와 취업 간 상관성을 높게 인식하는 경우와 대학원이 한국어 능력 향상에 도움을 준다고 볼수록 대학원 번역과정 진학에 대한 선호도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이 연구는 중국인 유학생의 대학원 유치 방안 마련에 참고 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
This study aims to identify the demands of Chinese international students for admission to
the Korean as a Foreign Language for Translation (KFLT) course in graduate school and aims to
analyze the drivers of graduate school admissions. To this end, a survey was conducted of 169
Chinese international students, focusing on personal information, job preference and factor
recognition, and self-recognition of Korean and Korean-Chinese interpretation ability. In conclusion,
53.8% of Chinese international students want to be admitted to graduate school, and more than half
of them prefer to enter the KFLT course.The results of regression analysis on the main drivers of
such demand for further education are as follows; first, personal information, such as university,
major, grade, andTOPIK grade during enrollment were observed as significant factors. Second, the
self-recognition of Korean and Korean-Chinese interpretation ability and the presence or absence of
related work (translation) experience did not work as an influential factor. However, the willingness
of respondents to improve their Korean language ability was observed as a significant variable.
Third, respondents to chose to go to the KFLT course did so because they perceived Korean as a significant factor for employment, and they viewed Korean graduate school education as helping to
improve their Korean language proficiency. This study is expected to be used as reference material
to attract Chinese international students to Korean graduate school.
