Donginhakbo is a magazine published by the Dongin Association, and only the first issue was published on July 1, 1907. The Dongin Association was a society formed in 1906, and it actively participated in the problems of the Korean students society in Japan and The National Debt Redemption Movement in Korea, and had an influence in the international student society by holding sports meetings with the Taegeuk Association. The most important part of these activities was the establishment of the Dongin School. Dongin School was first a language institute where seniors who came to Japan to teach Japanese to new students who newly came to Japan. In establishing Dongin School in this way, the Dongin Association emphasizes that international students who come to Japan through the "Donginhoe Purpose Statement" should be educated diligently, fulfill their obligations to the state, and repay their parents' parenting and support at home. In addition, it is argued that such education and learning should be expanded for the public good. Based on Donginhakbo's identity, the articles published in Donginhakbo also focused on emphasizing publicity and expanding toward the public good. Ahn Young-soo's "The Rumors of Dreams" emphasizes saving time to study, comparing it to the dedication and effort of the parents' generation in their home country, and Byeokrasaeng's "Don't take small profits" and "The Neutrality of Bats" urge them to work for the public good, not for individuals. All of these can be said to be reproducing the educational spirit emphasized by Donginhakbo through narratives. The magazine of Korean students society in Japan was a medium for international students to exchange common interests as a place to share their concerns and knowledge, as well as a place for literary arts. However, while running Dongin School, Donginhakbo assumed the relationship between a teacher and a senior and a student and a junior, and as education and teaching were premised, the content and style of the narrative that could provide more didacticism was used. Donginhakbo's narrative work was also one of the various experiments in narrative literature conducted in the magazine of Korean students society in Japan, and it can be said that it existed as an intermediate process. In the end, these numerous experiments and efforts in narrative literature resulted in the gradual birth of modern literature.
